On a highway-dominant commute — the MoPac and Loop 360 pattern most Austin drivers actually run — this is the version that makes the most sense. Central Texas rarely asks a crossover for winter traction, so rear-wheel drive here is a range and price advantage rather than a compromise.
Adding a front motor takes the OPTIQ to 440 horsepower and 498 lb-ft, available on all four trims for $3,500. What it costs is 14 miles of rating, since all-wheel drive certifies at 303. That is the honest exchange — meaningfully quicker and surer in a hard summer downpour, slightly shorter-legged.

The OPTIQ splits into two styling paths — Luxury and Sport — each offered at a base and a Premium level. Two things make the ladder easier to read than most. Every trim — including the $50,900 Luxury — carries the 33-inch display, the 19-speaker AKG audio system and Super Cruise as standard equipment, so nothing headline sits behind an upcharge. And the full lineup is upholstered in Cadillac’s Inteluxe leatherette; genuine leather is not offered on any OPTIQ trim, so the step up buys perforation, stitching and decor rather than a different material. Range and Charging
The dashboard is one 33-inch Horizon Display at 9K resolution, running Google built-in — live traffic, podcasts and apps run natively in the car, without a phone. Worth knowing before you shop: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered on the OPTIQ in the United States. If phone projection is non-negotiable for you, that is a real reason to drive one before ordering.
Super Cruise is standard on every trim, with a three-year OnStar One plan included rather than a short trial. It is a hands-free, eyes-on system: on mapped compatible highways you take your hands off the wheel while a camera confirms you are still watching the road. On the long interstate stretches between Austin and San Antonio, that is where most of its work gets done.
Charging is the other half of the technology story. The OPTIQ has a native NACS charge port, so it plugs into a Tesla Supercharger with no adapter, alongside access to a public network of more than 250,000 chargers. On DC fast charging it accepts up to 150 kW and adds about 81 miles of range in roughly 10 minutes. At home, an 11.5 kW onboard charger is standard and a 19.2 kW unit is available, adding up to 36 or 59 miles of range per hour respectively. The car ships with a 20-foot dual-level cord, good for roughly 24 miles of range an hour off a 240-volt outlet.
Cabin
Five seats in two rows, 41.6 inches of front legroom and 37.8 in the second row, with 39.6 inches of headroom up front and 38.7 in back. A SkyGlass fixed panoramic roof with a power shade is standard across the lineup — there is no fixed-metal-roof version to accidentally order.
Heated front seats are standard on every trim. The Premium trims add ventilated and massaging front seats and heated rear outboard seats, which in a climate with a five-month summer is less of a luxury than it sounds — ventilation is the feature people use most here. Cabin pre-conditioning matters for the same reason: cool the car on the wall before you leave and you spend the grid’s energy instead of the battery’s.
The 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system is standard on all trims, with Dolby Atmos available — a complete system to find on an entry trim at this price.

Properly equipped, the OPTIQ tows 1,500 pounds — enough for a small utility trailer or a pair of jet skis, not enough for a travel trailer; if towing is the priority, the LYRIQ is rated at 3,500. And six inches of ground clearance is modest, which matters on steep driveway aprons and during the flash-flood season when low-water crossings go under. The OPTIQ is a paved-road crossover and it is worth being straight about that. There is no front trunk.
